CHOOSE AN INTERESTING THEME AND STICK WITH IT! PICTURES SHOULD MATCH THE INFORMATION TOUCHING THE SCREEN Index CLOTHING AND SELF- PRESENTATION VOCAL EXPRESSION COMMUNICATION WITH THE CAMERA
Make sure it's something you're interested in Look up example presentations Browse multiple ideas in PowerPoint Choosing a theme Look at how each slide looks (Title, content, etc.) Make sure it matches your topic(Ex: if your question is about nature, look up nature themes) Do not make it too much, its only the background and where you place text. Don t go overboard.
Look on Mutiple sources(Google, Pinterest, Yahoo) Pictures should be self-descriptive, don t waste time explaining the image Make sure they're impactful Your guide to pictures Don t go over with the graphics! Blur an image if needed Charts and graphs can be extremely informative but are not that fun to look at Make sure to cite them!
1 2 3 Interaction with the screen Use the yellow highlighter tool during your presentation to circle or underline key ideas. When you do this, make sure you're talking at the same time. Don t stand in silence while you're circling Use the pen as much as possible while not breaking eye contact too often Don t read off the screen EVER
Dont wear a graphic tee shirt or anything distracting How YOU Look Stick with something simple and clean Brush. your. hair.
Speak loudly and strongly, not too fast. Use hand gestures when you're not touching the screen Keep talking while you're switching slides, underlining sentences Vocal Tips Smile! Keep an up-beat, positive tone. The you can make it lower for a dramatic effect when needed. Your facial expression and voice should match the information on each slide Bring out your inner actor!
Speak to the camera, talk to it like it s a real person listening to you Persuade it! Pretend it's trying to argue with you, show you're passionate Communication with the camera Keep eye contact with the lenses Look at how you're framed so you know what it can see Don t just stay in one place the whole time, move around the screen (just don t block it)
