  2. Preparations Know your Audience - In preparing your speech, take note of what appeals to YOUR audience! Practice - You can practice with a partner, a mirror, or record yourself! Engage the audience - Talk TO them, not AT them Eye contact - don t have a staring contest, scan the audience and graze everyone s eyes instead Interactive - bring up volunteers, ask audience questions, make it FUN World is your stage - utilize the space that you are given | CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

Voice Project! - If the front row can t hear you, then the back row is sleeping Vocal inflection - Monotone is a no-go; add livelihood into your voice to keep the audience engaged [Brown Bear] *Enunciate - Speak clearly so information is not misunderstood; don t trail off [pencil trick, tongue twisters] Speed - Not too fast, not too slow | CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
