  1. Security Options for Groveport Madison Schools Gary L. Sigrist, Jr. CEO and President Safeguard Risk Solutions LLC

  2. Questions for each vendor Can you handle security for an entire district (1 preschool, 6 elementary, 3 middle, and 1 high school)? What school districts are you working with now? How many security officers would you have for each site? What type of training do you provide for your officers? If a school uses metal detectors, how many officers would you recommend of each metal detector? On average, what would an officer cost for 180 days? You can break this down as armed vs unarmed.

  3. Keep in mind All the companies who responded expressed concerns that they did not have an adequate amount of time to answer your questions. This is the view from 10,000 feet. I had to sign an NDA for each company to keep their information confidential. To get a more in-depth analysis of the necessary staffing and costs, the district would need to put out an RFP.

  4. Vendor A Armed Security Firm Can you handle security for an entire district (1 preschool, 6 elementary, 3 middle, and 1 high school)? Yes, we can handle security for the entire district no problem at all. The current large project we are staffing 28 armed "School Protection Specialists" for the North Kansas City, MO School District which is the 2nd largest in the State of Missouri

  5. Vendor A Armed Security Firm What school districts are you working with now? We have worked with over 500 districts across the country on a wide variety of security training, consulting and protection projects. The "School Protection Specialists" portion of our business is very new, but we already have 2 districts and 5 others looking at this model since SRO's are almost impossible to get from local law enforcement agencies.

In order to hire high quality full-time personnel, we do not have a 180-day option. These are full-time salaried positions that we provide full healthcare & retirement benefits. The school will pay $98,714 annually for each armed School Protection Specialists. These personnel have either previous law enforcement experience, previous military experience or extensive armed protection related experience. In order to attract this level of personnel we must compensate them higher than your typical law enforcement officer that is starting out. We do not provide an unarmed option for school security.
