CONT. Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) Around 4,000 highly trained members Jobs like investigators, analysts, SWAT experts and many others. Work very fast and one mistake can cost someone s life Them and the FBI were watching one of the Tsarnaev brothers prior to the Boston Bombing.
FIGHTING RECRUITMENT Tech titans of the world are coming together to eliminate terrorist propaganda on their sites. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Microsoft Creating a software called Hashes Washington has been calling for something like this to happen for awhile, but they wanted to control it. Twitter has released a statement saying that they have terminated over 125,000 accounts linked to terrorist propaganda.
NEW LAW USA Patriot Act of 2001 4 main sections 1. Allows for investigators to use the tools that were already available to investigate organized crime and drug trafficking 2. Allows to facilitate information sharing and cooperation among government agencies so that they can better connect the dots 3. Updates the law to reflect new technology and new threats 4. Increases the penalty for those who commit terroristic acts
CONCLUSION Very few solutions that can combat terrorism Some programs in place now to protect mostly our national security and if lucky, cut funding. Social media is coming together to fight recruitment on their sites. USA Patriot Act
