  1. School Administrator (Grades K-8) 5/14/21

  2. Introduction Thank you for reviewing the School Administrator training. In order to successfully implement Partnering for Eternity at your school, your role is important. As you review, watch for this symbol that will link you to resources on the PFE website relevant to your role.

  3. PFE Logo PFE or Partnering For Eternity - strives to build intergenerational connections, providing opportunities for students and mentors to receive Christ's blessings of service, growth and friendship. Our new logo depicts this mission: The hands represent senior mentor and mentee reaching for each other as they build a true and growing relationship. The heart represents our hope that all participants will find something far surpassing a scholarship opportunity as meaningful relationships grow. It is our hope that Partnering For Eternity succeeds in promoting relationships that will be emotionally, mentally, and spiritually nurturing for either or both parties. We hope the relationships will extend beyond visit seasons, through this life on earth and on to heaven.

  4. Your Commitments Work with your coordinator to complete the PFE Scholarship Application. 1. Identify committed PFE team members and be familiar with job description for each. 2. Facilitate effective communication among team members. 3. Share the story of PFE in your local communities and churches. 4. Participate in any site visits or surveys done by PFE Administration. 5.

  5. Staffing Your Team One person may assume multiple roles. Be sure if this is the case on your team, the individual holding multiple roles is able to handle the workload and completes each training module. Each team member must complete his/her respective training(s) by September 1. Be aware of continuity and cessation training. If a team member changes in the middle of the year: 1. Inform PFE Administration and provide your new member s name, phone number, email, position, and relationship with the school. 2. Instruct the new team member to complete his/her respective training, as well as encourage in-person training from the previous job holder.

  6. Staffing Your Team, cont. Coordinator May not be the principal, teaching principal, or a teacher. Who? Parent volunteer, school secretary, teacher s aide, board member, etc. Someone who is able to commit time and is passionate about PFE. Time commitment? Up to a few hours per week, depending on participation numbers. Mentor Liaison Who? A pastor or visiting elder (someone who enjoys visiting with people) from a constituent church, the Coordinator, or a parent volunteer. Time commitment? Up to a few hours per month.

  7. Staffing Your Team Treasurer Who? School treasurer or business manager. Whoever manages your students tuition accounts. Time commitment? 1-2 hours per month. Fundraiser Who? A board member, school administrators, or an individual from your school s development office. Time commitment? Varies according to experience and existing fundraisers. Team Member Job Descriptions

  8. Student Selection Participant slots are based on school enrollment at the end of the previous year. Schools with enrollment of 30 or fewer are allowed up to 50% of enrollment. Schools with enrollment of 31 or more are allowed up to 20% of enrollment. Students/families must follow scholarship guidelines and deadlines. Students/families must be able to commit to consistent, weekly visits. Note: PFE students/parents who do not follow scholarship guidelines will be removed from the PFE program.

  9. Student Selection, cont. This is a scholarship for: Students and parents who are passionate about serving others. Students who would benefit from a positive intergenerational connection. PFE is not a needs-based scholarship. Please select participants based on passion to serve. Do not choose participants based upon financial need. Parent Commitments

  10. Student/Mentor Match Checklist No two student/mentor matches are alike. Keep this guide in mind to achieve successful matches. Look for a majority of below characteristics to be met as the intergenerational relationship grows through weekly PFE visits. Senior loneliness is eased Student is learning something Mentor is learning something Service is occurring An intergenerational relationship is growing Consistent visits occur Students demonstrate accountability Also look for: Committed parents Passionate local donors Involved churches

  11. We are excited to return to non-virtual programming! When your mentor is unable to visit in-person, you may opt for one of the socially distanced service options below: Yard work Housework Grocery delivery Food delivery Create a care package Gift box with ingredients for their favorite meal, include a note Go on a walk Have a bonfire Make smores or roast hot dogs Combination of above activities Please refer to the student/mentor match checklist to determine if your activity choice meets the PFE mission. *No virtual visits

  12. Scholarship Allocation It is up to your school to determine when to apply the tuition assistance. PFE scholarship money may only be applied to students tuition accounts. PFE scholarship money is not to go towards expenses such as books, classroom needs, field trips, uniforms, etc. If a student leaves your school with a PFE credit to his/her account, that money may not be paid out in cash. The extra tuition assistance may be put toward your 30% fundraising.

  13. Thank you for reviewing your Administrator training!
