Safiye AL Safiye Ali (2 February 1894 5 July 1952) was a Turkish physician, the first female medical doctor of the Republic of Turkey. She was a graduate of Robert College in Istanbul. She treated soldiers in the Balkan Wars, World War I, and the Turkish War of Independence. She studied medicine in Germany in 1916 and opened her office in Istanbul in 1923. Her name has been given to a family health center in Istanbul. She has done major research on the welfare of mothers and infants. With the lessons she provided to female students, she also made history as the first woman to teach medicine.
Dilhan Eryurt Dilhan Eryurt (29 November 1926 13 September 2012) was a Turkish astrophysicist who made major contributions to scientific research on the formation and evolution of the Sun and other main sequence stars. From 1961 to 1973, Eryurt worked for NASA, performing research for the Apollo program. She then established the astrophysics department at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey. She was the Dean of METU's science and literature faculty from 1988 to 1993.
Burin Mutlu-Pakdil BUR N MUTLU-PAKD L, Ph.D. Astrophysicist NSF & KICP Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Chicago Dr. Bur in Mutlu-Pakdil studies the most peculiar objects in the Universe. Her research has led to a discovery of an extremely rare galaxy with a unique circular structure, which is now commonly referred to as Bur in's Galaxy. Gne zhan Member of the Medical Faculty Department of Medical Biology and Genetics of Dokuz Eyl l University Assoc. Prof. Dr. G ne zhan has been granted an award for project focusing on unlocking the mechanisms of disorders such as Alzheimer. zhan shared the following information about her project: I target to understand the relations between the two types of signal pathways that are known to play important roles during the creation of nerve cells network and the nerve conduction in the brain.

Director of Polymer Research CenterT rkan Halilo lu is a Turkish biochemist researching biopolymers, computational structural biology, protein dynamics, binding and folding of proteins, and protein interactions. She is a professor in the department of chemical engineering and director of the polymer research center at the Bo azi i University. In 2012, Halilo lu became a member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences.[1] In 2018, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Rose Gottemoeller, presented Halilo lu with the partnership prize from the NATO Science for Peace and Security for her molecular research on bacteria used in biological weapons.
