MODULE 9 Identify maturity of vermicompost and harvest using approved procedures
Use appropriate personal protective equipment suitable to the type of work PPE: Example gloves, apron, appropriate footwear, etc. Obtain tools and materials needed in carrying out harvesting procedures Tools and materials: containers, sieve, light source, weighing scale, storing and packing materials, plastic sheet, etc. Confirm the tools and accessories selected are undamaged and safe to use.
Adhere with health and safety guidelines relevant to the work area. Identify the appropriate harvesting stage of compost on the basis of the following quality Parameters: Colour (black), texture (moist, loose, homogenous and aesthetic), weight (light) and odorless, etc
