Consider how you would naturally read/listen to the text i.e. skimming, scanning, working out the organisation, deducing meaning from context [using contents, index] and try to ensure your tasks reflect this. 3. Select vocabulary to pre-teach. 4. Think of a context/warmer/questions to create interest. 5. Think of the first task make it simple and realistic.

Instead use true/false fill in the gaps, correct the errors put events in the correct order choose the best which picture best represents find appropriate places in the text to reinsert some sentences which have been taken out find words in the text which have the same meaning as 7. Consider how to follow this stage of the lesson with a speaking or writing activity.
