Gobi Ordering with YBP and Alma
A Current YBP Ordering Workflow w/Sierra 1) Order books and ebooks in Gobi 2) Download the resulting order file (a day later) containing brief bibliographic and order data 3) Load brief MARC data into Sierra with load profile, creating brief bib and order records 4) Post your session to encumber funds 5) Using Create Lists and the file of records just loaded, output a .prt file containing invoice information fields: Sierra Order Record # (81) Identity (i) Acct. No. (a) 6) Return that file to the Gobi FTP site
Old (Sierra) vs New (Alma) with GobiAPI Sierra Alma 1. Order books and ebook in Gobi 2. Download .ord file 3. Load brief records into Sierra 4. Post encumbrances 5. Create List of order info 6. Load EOCR/EOD file* into Alma using New Order Import Profile *Pickup and loading of these files can be scheduled in Alma
Invoicing, Full MARC Records, Set-up, etc. In Alma, you can Receive EDI invoices from YBP by mapping YBP s order number to Alma Vendor Reference Number field (EOCR) whether using the GobiAPI or not Use YBP & WCM partner services for full MARC records (GobiAPI or not) Use Shelf-Ready services (GobiAPI or not) Libraries will need to Start the conversation with YBP now they will help you Decide how/what services you will choose (EDI invoices, GobiAPI, etc.) Adjust your tech specs with YBP Configure Alma Acq processes to match
