Goals Learn from one another how data provided by ELD/GPS devices can be used to make auditing easier. Provide insight regarding what information is available and useful from providers. Share new techniques being utilized. Share examples of actual audit experiences. Remove the fear of working with data. Brainstorm on how we can make each other s jobs easier.
General Information What are the biggest obstacles you have faced related to using data captured by ELD/GPS devices to meet recordkeeping requirements? (Industry or Jurisdiction) What is working well/what are the benefits? Where are improvements needed?
Knowledge Do you have the knowledge and tools needed to utilize data from these types of devices to file taxes / audit taxes accurately? Are the Company Representatives you work with knowledgeable of the devices they use and their capabilities, as well as how the miles they report are calculated?
Information Are Industry Representatives able to provide you with the information needed to perform the audit? Is data being kept for the correct period of time to allow you to audit? Has GPS Interval been a point of contention during an audit? If so, what interval was provided?
Information If you have GPS coordinates, do you still need the route of travel? Why or why not? What role have odometer readings had in audits? Are odometers still necessary? Why or why not? Have you used odometers instead of GPS readings? In conjunction with GPS?
Other Items What have we missed? What other topics do we need to discuss?
