NURSES STATION If you must check out a sick child, you will enter the front doors, sign your child out on the computer (Don t forget your license!) and receive a check-out slip Take the check out slip and follow the sidewalk on the right to the outside door of the nurse s office. If your child requires medicine it must be given directly to the nurse or you must hand it to the bus driver and they will get it to the nurse. The nurse will contact you when more is needed Our school nurse is Mrs. Courtney Scott
STUDENT CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT We have gone digital with student check-in and check-out A visitor scans his or her driver s license Information collected from the license includes first and last name, birthdate and state of residence. If a visitor does not have a license, he or she will be prompted to type in the information. We will provide step-by-step instructions at the computer for you to sign-in a student, or sign out a student
BUS PROCEDURES The tardy bell rings at 7:45 each morning. PARENTS -FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS, PLEASE NOTE THAT BUSES MAY NOT BE CHANGED BY PHONE CALL OR NOTE EXCEPT IN EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES (I.E., NEED TO SEND STUDENT TO GRANDMOTHER BECAUSE PARENT WILL NOT BE HOME). PLEASE MAKE CONTACT REGARDING EMERGENCIES AS SOON AS YOU CAN; ONLY EMERGENCY SITUATIONS WILL BE PERMITTED REGARDING BUS CHANGES.
CAR RIDER PROCEDURES MORNING Please drop your child off in the drop and go lane. Do not park in the drop and go lane to walk your child in. Tardy bell rings at 7:45. If it is after 7:45 you MUST park and come sign them in.
CAR RIDER PROCEDURES AFTERNOON Pre-k and kindergarten will be in the media center and will exit the outside door of the media center to car riders. 1stand 2ndgrades will be in the lunchroom and will be dismissed from the lunchroom patio to car riders. We will begin to line up car riders at 2:15 the first week. After that, car riders will begin loading at 2:35 each day. Please be sure to have your car rider tag displayed so that we can see it clearly
CAR RIDER TAGS Each student identified as a car rider at L. K. Moss will be given one car rider identification card and matching student book bag clip. Additional identification cards may be purchased for $5.00 each and each additional clip for $1. Each person providing transportation for a child must present the identification card in the dashboard of the vehicle or it must be attached to the visor of the vehicle in order for school personnel to release the child to the driver. If the identification card is not displayed, the student will not be allowed to be transported home in that vehicle without additional verification through the school office. If this is the case, please PARK YOUR CAR, and come into the main office.
KINDERGARTEN SUPPLIES AND GENERAL INFORMATION A CHANGE OF CLOTHES (BE SURE TO LABEL THEM AND PUT IN A ZIPLOC BAG). IF YOU DO NOT SEND IN A CHANGE OF CLOTHES AND YOUR CHILD HAS AN ACCIDENT THEY WILL BE GIVEN WHAT THE NURSE HAS AVAILABLE WATER BOTTLE OVER THE HEAD EARPHONES CHECK WITH YOUR CHILD S TEACHER FOR SPECIFIC SUPPLIES THEY REQUIRE (CRAYONS, FOLDERS, SCISSORS, ETC.) IF YOU SEND MONEY TO THE SCHOOL PLEASE SEND IT IN AN ENVELOPE OR ZIPLOC BAG WITH YOUR CHILD S NAME ON IT AND WHAT IT IS FOR. PLACE IT INSIDE YOUR CHILD S SCHOOL FOLDER SO WE WILL BE SURE TO GET IT. ON DAYS YOUR CHILD HAS P.E. (YOUR CHILD S TEACHER WILL GET YOU THE SCHEDULE) PLEASE BE SURE THEY WEAR CLOSE TOED SHOES.
WATER BOTTLES Personal water bottles from home are encouraged for students while at school Please wash these daily, and return to school the following day. Make certain that each bottle is labeled with the student s name Water fountains will be used for filling up water bottles.
