Reviewing the Code of Conduct with Students Reviewing the Code of Conduct with Students Homeroom teachers must explicitly teach the Code of Conduct to students once per semester. During the first semester only: Once you have finished covering the Code of Conduct, each child must fill out a Code of Conduct Student Attestation. Once you have collected all of the Student Attestation forms, you must complete the Teacher Attestation Form. Make copies of the Student Attestation Forms. Turn the originals and your Teacher Attestation Form in to __________ no later than ___________. File the copies in your classroom.
Bus Rules Bus Rules *The driver is in full charge of the bus and students* *School and district rules/regulations apply on the school buses* Students will: Sit in their assigned seat. Refrain from throwing objects in or out of the bus. Keep their hands to themselves. Be courteous to their fellow passengers Use appropriate language Keep the bus clean Speak and keep noise at a quiet tone. Follow all directives giving by your driver
Bus Transportation Violation Sanctions Many students use the school buses as their main source of transportation to school each day. While on the bus, school rule does apply, in addition there are specific rules for the buses. If you do not follow the bus rules or the school rules while on the bus, consequences will follow the code. You will also be suspended off of the bus. FIRST OFFENSE: PARENT CONTACT AND WARNING 2ND OFFENSE: PARENT CONFERENCE, BUS SUSPENSION (1 DAY) 3RD OFFENSE: PARENT CONFERENCE, BUS SUSPENSION (3 DAYS) 4TH OFFENSE: PARENT CONFERENCE, PERMANENT BUS

Common Area Rules These are the rules that tell you how to act in certain areas of the building to ensure that everyone is safe and creating an environment that is conducive to learning. R- Respect yourself and others U- Use manners L- Listen and learn E- Excel everyday

Code of Conduct Remember, the Code of Conduct is in effect at the bus stops, on school buses, at school and at all school-sponsored activities, both on and off campus. The Code of Conduct has been put in place to make sure that students are treated fairly and consistently when being disciplined

Students Amnesty If a student brings something to school, once they remember they have it with them, they should tell someone immediately (a teacher, staff member, administrator, or school resource officer) so they won t get in trouble. If the student chooses not to tell and give the item to a adult at the school, and then it is found, the student will get in trouble.
Students Due Process Rights Administration will treat all students with fairness during the resolution of disciplinary matters. Administrator must do the following: give rudimentary hearing oral notice of charges to student explanation of evidence against student student given opportunity to tell his/her version require notification to parent/legal guardian require classroom interventions for Category I offense in accordance with the school discipline plan require payment for damages, if applicable will confer with staff on the extent of the consequence make referral to school counselor or counseling program (required for Category I, and Category II) consider a possible referral to outside agency, as required consider a possible referral to law enforcement agency
Reminders For Evidentiary Hearing Process Teacher interventions should be noted in ABE Parental contact should be documented (actual contact or contact attempts due to incorrect information is acceptable) Only factual data should be provided on comment sheets A redacted version of your comment sheet will be displayed during the hearing School Counselor referrals are expected to be utilized when appropriate
Referral Reminders Classroom Actions and Notes should be used to document behaviors that fall within the realm of classroom management Teachers should only use code 000TBD to code Office Referrals. However, teachers should code their own Classroom Actions Teachers must make parent contact whenever a referral is written. This needs to be a phone call (or text, if that is the only way you are able to communicate with them), not just a note on a homework log. ALL district referrals must be entered into ABE All referrals must be addressed within 72 hours for Category 1 and within 24 hours for Categories 2 and 3 All referrals must be addressed. However, referrals may be deleted when appropriate (for example, if additional information becomes available, if the timeline is not met, or the behavior does not match a Code of Conduct definition, etc.). If a referral is deleted, this will be communicated with the originator.
