According to the fruit of the Spirit, the best life God could give you doesn t include: doing whatever I want to do, making a ton of money, finding sexual fulfillment, great physical health, being popular, being happy, security and being free from sorrow and suffering . . .
The fruit of the Spirit is . . . patience forbearance long-suffering
Imagine for a moment how God is patient with you. How has God been patient with you? Silently thank the Lord for such patience. Ask that this patience of Christ be formed in you.
The fruit of the Spirit is . . . kindness not niceness
Remember a time God was kind to you. Can you tell of the time you experienced God s kindness? Be still until you can tell it. For the Lord has been kind to you. Ask that this kindness of Christ be formed in you.
The fruit of the Spirit is . . . goodness generosity
Tell another about Gods goodness and how you have lived well because God is generous to you. Silently thank the Lord for the generous grace of Jesus. Ask that this generosity of Christ be formed in you.
Jesus is patience, kind, and good. His patience, kindness, and goodness is being formed in us.
