  2. What is BLU? Organization Overview Mission Statement: Business Leaders of UConn (BLU) seeks to empower and advance underrepresented BIPOC students through various distinguished professional opportunities, while creating a strong community for minority students interested in business. The ultimate goal is to equip high-achieving, marginalized students with the skill-set, resources, mentorship, and network to accomplish their career goals. Business Leaders of UConn (BLU) was founded with the intention of addressing two central issues: Lack of community for students of color resulting in low retention and achievement Lack of prestigious internship and full-time opportunities for UConn Students What we offer: Focused mentorship from experienced professionals and upper-class students in our students' field of interest Strong community of driven, like-minded students of color to grow with and learn from Weekly interactive teach-ins covering various topics to provide a holistic professional development experience Networking opportunities with alumni and advisors in prestigious positions across various areas of business BUSINESS LEADERS OF UCONN 2

Important Dates & Events Fall 2020 Timeline September 30: Students will be assigned professional and senior mentors September 20: Student application due September 15 & 16: School of Business involvement fair September 16: Information Session for potential students October 28: First virtual professional panel September 23: First official meeting of the semester BUSINESS LEADERS OF UCONN 3
