Our Key Change Promise 3 By 2017, through holding central, local governments and corporate to account AAI Zimbabwe will facilitate improvements in the quality, equity and gender responsiveness of public services for 350,000 adult women, young women and men, children and other people living in poverty in selected rural, peri-urban and urban communities in Zimbabwe.

  3. CSP Priorities AAI provision of public services that have a direct bearing and benefit on the situation of women, children and youth. Communities in the Zimbabwe and partners are currently working have prioritised access to water, sanitation, education, maternal health, child health care, sexual and reproductive health services and agricultural extension services. Zimbabwe will mainly focus on the LRPs in which AAI

  4. The programme strategy is informed by the work that AAI Zimbabwe has been doing in the previous Interim CSP 2010-2012.

  5. AAI Zimbabwe will scale up its support in the existing and new LRPs by building synergy between 12 LRP partners, 6 Project partners and strategic partners at local, national, regional and international levels

  6. Major Actions/ Activities Raising the awareness and consciousness of adult women, young women and men and children in selected communities on their and socio-economic rights and responsibilities as enshrined in the Constitution of Zimbabwe

  7. Organizing meetings that facilitate the engagement between women, youth and children and duty bearers on critical policy issues policy dialogue and stakeholders Mobilising women and youth social movements, civil society coalitions and progressive media to participate in public accountability campaigns

  8. Support Programme accountability Governance training working with MS-TCDC and People for Change personnel support - This will be based on the CPs HRBA Capacity building initiatives and plan for 2013 and beyond - We will also get assistance from 11 HRBA Inspirators who will be coming to work with our 8 LRP partners capacity development and monitoring among AAIZ staff Partner tools, staff Advanced in

Carrying out Participatory Research focusing on the Assessment of the government in gender sensitive service delivery, including identification of gaps and alternatives and effectiveness of responsibility programmes and community share ownership schemes in promoting equitable and quality basic service delivery. - This will later inform evidence based advocacy, leading to the development of position papers to be used in campaigns Capacity of Local corporate social

Training of the 50 Education cluster members at district level in on Promoting Rights in Schools(Empowerment) in LRP areas Documentation of impact of child led platforms (Junior SD s in LRP 7)(Campaigning) to be distributed to other 8 LRP partners for replication empowerment of children in schools. and modification for

EXPECTED OUTCOMES - Platforms effectively represent the interests of people living in poverty and their claims for the equitable delivery of quality services from duty bearers. - Empowered poor people are using learnt social audit techniques and are demanding accountability from service providers and participate in social audits - Duty bearers become more responsive to the needs of women, youth and children in the provision of quality services among women, youth and children. They provide relevant information to residents on their policies, plans and budgets. - Decisions are being made through participatory processes.
