  2. Introduction and Details of the organisation NCHAFATSO: Is a professional registered NPO in the community of Diepsloot The Organization has been operating since 2014 with limited funds

  3. Mission Provide ABET education and skills development programs to people of Diepsloot from the age of 18 and above. Provide counselling to the youth who experienced loss in their lives Vision Create impact on poverty by increasing availability to learn and have skills that will help the community members after completing the ABET and Skills programs courses. Making sure that people of Diepsloot are integrated into current educational, economic and social institutions through skills development programs.

  4. Long term goals To be one of the leading NGO in our community by giving better service to our learners and the community at large. Ensuring that all disadvantaged learners have a second chance to complete their studies. Ensuring that the community members who experienced loss are assisted through counselling

  5. Focused Programme area Offer Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm. Monday to Thursday evening classes. The ABET programme is affiliated to IEB (Independent Examination Board). Which is registered with SETA. Offer counselling to the youth who experienced loss Offer Skill development programs such as Computer skill, sewing, tiling, plumbing and etc We target both female and male learners from the age of 18 and above that are willing to take another step in their lives through ABET and Skills development programs.

  6. Geographical coverage NCHAFATSO operates in Diepsloot in the North of Johannesburg. The center is located at the property and in the building owned by the Reformed Church Randburg in Diepsloot; we are thus a community-based source of support, living within the Diepsloot community whom we serve. We are part of Diepsloot.

  7. Governance NCHAFATSO will have separate policies on the following issues: Human Resource [ HR Policy] Inclusion [Diversity Policy to include disadvantaged] Financial [ Financial Management Policy and Guideline] Gender [Gender Policy] Safety policy Basic conditions of employment Act.

NCHAFATSO Research Our researches have shown that many community members don t have basic education and skills that might help them to find employment or start a small business for them to survive. Some have financial challenges that makes it difficult for them to attend school Most of the youth members have experienced loss and there is no sufficient help they receive to help them cope with their grieve

  9. Projected needs of the organisation Class Rooms a place where the lessons can take place as well as an office. An area where Skills programs can be accommodated e,g. Computer training; Sewing, Tiling etc. In total we need close to seven rooms. Currently we are using one big Church Hall for the lessons.

  10. Projected needs of the Organisation continue Food to feed the youth after counselling sessions. We realised that most of them are coming from poor families. Funds to give honorariumto the Organisation s educators; counsellors; administrator and cleaners. There are currently 9 people involved on a day to day basis. Funds to buy stationaries and to register our ABET leaners for their November final year Exam. Currently we have 60 learners.

  11. Taking care of funds NCHAFATSO have NPO account where all funds are kept. The treasurer will be the one looking at the current finances of the NPO. All the record of the items purchased will be kept safe in our finance file by the treasurer. NCHAFATSO will work hand in hand with independent auditors as it is prescribed by the laws governing the NPO s
