Self-Awareness Activity: Part 1 Think of the most difficult family you are currently working with or have worked with in the recent past. Once you ve recalled that family, take 5-10 minutes to journal your experience with that family. 10
Self-Awareness Activity: Part 2 Imagine yourself stepping into the shoes of the family you just described to see what life might be like from their perspective.Pretend you are one of the family members. Reflect on the following questions: What do you think [facilitator s name] thought of your family? How come? What is your relationship like with [facilitator s name]? How would you like your family to be treated by [facilitator s name]? What do you need from [facilitator s name] that you are/were not getting? think of things related to interpersonal characteristics. How would those things change/have changed your relationship? What would be different for you if [facilitator s name] changed in that way? 11
