  1. Covering Children & Families EWA National Seminar 2025 Facilitator: Marie Holmes

  2. Agenda: 1. Welcome & overview, sign-in w/ email address (5 min) 2. Journalists/community members break into small groups (5 min) 3. Introductions in small groups (10 min) 4. Solutions brainstorm in small groups (20 min) 5. Share out to large group (15 min) 6. Final recommendations (if time allows)

  3. Introductions 1. What is your name? 2. Where do you live? (city or state) 3. What is your job title and where do you work? 4. What are your children s ages? (If you have children) 5. Who is caring for your children so that you can be here today?

  4. Solutions brainstorm *designate one group member to take notes and another group member to keep track of time* 1. Group member describes a current challenge in their work (finding a source, getting press coverage, etc.) 1-2 minutes 2. Other group members help brainstorm potential solutions by sharing their experiences, tips, resources, etc. 3-4 minutes Repeat until each group member has had a chance to share a challenge and receive help brainstorming potential solutions 3. As a group, select 2-3 tips/resources/solutions to share out with the whole group, and designate one group member to speak.

  5. Final recommendations Is there another resource you would like to share with the whole group?
