Background Run by Border World Foundation in J&K 230 girls in the age group of 4-21 yrs Homes in 5 locations: Beerwah, Kupwara, Anantnag, Badgam, Shrinagar Budget Asha SV agreed to in 2018 Rs 28960 / Kid for 12 months for 120 kids. Total: 26546*120 = Rs 31,85,600 Some digital education components for 1 home. Vocational training & workshops = INR 3,00,000 Workshops = INR 2,00,000 Total: INR 36,85,600 for July 2018-May 2019 (11 months) Mid Year: INR 18,98,000

Other Updates 18 new students joined BeT 11 HP Computers in Lab (Previously 10) 1 printer installed at Srinagar home. Printers to be installed at Beerwah and Kupwara soon. Digital education first phase during winter vacations. New manager to be appointed to Kupwara home job responsibility includes digital education. Able to hire a Project coordinator from the first of this month, also hired a junior project officer who joined as of yesterday. Not shifted to new home as still few internal work pending (Painting, Electrical fitting and security gate etc) Child Welfare Committee visit to new home (last week) and suggested few changes. Work to be completed end of Dec 18.
Vocational Education For Vocational training, trained more than 10 girls who are now pursuing independent businesses / seeking jobs. Currently, BWF is supporting 5 girls in Digital media and Animation course. They are expected to jobs in the industry later.
Activities - Brief Girls participated in a National Level Play Marathon first in Srinagar first and then finally in New Delhi. Children were taken on a month long educational tour to Maharashtra (Mumbai and Kolhapur). Workshop on Safety was conducted A five day personality development workshop Women s Day function Significant days like World Book Day and World English Language Day were commemorated in homes.
Activities - Detail Month Long trip 15 children Vacation at Mumbai and Kolhapur Historical and Cultural heritage Live off a suitcase, take care of each other. A Criminology student from Delhi visited the BWF Home and stayed with the girls for 5 days. Several workshops - children practiced stopping unwanted touch and learn strategies for dealing with bribes and threats, and to speak up for themselves until they get help.
New Home @ Beerwha, Budgam
Shifted children from one rental house to another rental house with new rent deed in Beerwah. Located a new home is Kupwara and in the month of November shifting will start. Already gave 2 lac to House owner to complete pending work and keep ready home as per our requirements/expectations. Installation of Internet in Srinagar and Kupwara home. 2 laptops installed at Kupwara and Srinagar home with one projector. 4 desktop at Beerwah home, 1 laptop and desktop at Anantnag home. 1 printer installed at Srinagar home. Printers to be installed at Beerwah and Kupwara soon. We will start digital education first or initial phase in winter vacations. Since two months children are preparing for exams. Hence, digital education will be launched in winter vacation. For Vocational training or skill development, we trained more than 10 girls and later we asked them to do business individual level or independently. At present, BWF is supporting 5 girls in skill in Digital media and Animation course. They will get direct jobs in the industry later . Two children from Beerwah home, Kulsum and Farhana bagged the first and second prize in a painting competition held in their Higher Secondary School.
5 day personality development workshop Communication, overcoming stage fright, observation, imagination, teamwork, creative writing, Group discussion, presentation skills. Through exercises, games, drama acting, and various theatrical devices. In the month of Ramadhan, students waked up early in the morning and were taught Quran/Islamic discussions, besides other moral and ethical education between 4 to 5 am A team of doctors from Pune, Nashik and other cities of Maharashtra visited the BWF homes and conducted free medical tests of children in all the homes of BWF. The doctors also had discussions with the children on importance of maintain hygiene in and around the home. The children were also advised about the significance of eating nutritious and balanced diet. The world photography day was celebrated on 19th of August, 2018 and on this day our students also participated and enjoyed this day by clicking self photos and with their friends. The students enjoyed a lot during this whole day and participated in number of home games as well, such as Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, etc.
