Understanding who you are can help you stay on track and persevere with your goals. TASK: Our personality, preferences and values can have a huge impact on how we choose to do things in our careers. Make a list of your top five personal values (your fundamental beliefs and principals), then reflect on how these values influence your behaviour and decisions in education or work. Nicola is founder and Managing Director of the UK s first industry- led, co-funded construction school. B Sketch a simple timeline or flow chart with the steps you need to take to get there. C Next to each step, note down potential challenges you might experience along the way that set you back. D Reflect on how you would overcome these so you can persevere with your goal and stay resilient.
Challenges continued: 2. Reflect on a challenging time and write down five things it taught you about yourself. 3. Keep a journal for one week. Record any setbacks you encounter, how you plan to address them, and the outcomes. Reflect on how your persistence impacts the results.
