  2. Project Title: The Eco-List

  3. Vision Statement: We want to make the world a better place for everyone. Young people are the future and together we have the power to change the world. The small changes we each make add up together and make the world a better place. We can t change the world, but we can make a start. Tagline: Small changes can make a big difference

  4. When it comes to climate change, children like us, often think that our actions don t matter, people in power don t listen and we can t make a difference. We wanted to come up with an idea that was easy, fun, cheap, challenging, competitive and interesting We have based our project on the idea of a bucket list with activities and challenges to complete within a time scale. The challenges that we have (and will) come up with, will have an eco-theme, encouraging young minds to be eco-friendly, empowering them to realise that their small changes and actions can make a big difference. To introduce an aspect of competition there will be prizes offered to winning individuals and classes.

  5. We would start at school level: Each class will be given a check list so that the teacher can keep track of the children s progress. The children will also have their own copy of the checklists that would be shared on their Google Classrooms so that their families and the wider community can get involved. Some of the activities could be carried out in school ensuring that every child gets to participate. If it was to be successful we would spread it out to other local primary and special schools, then hopefully out to some secondary schools. Some of the challenges: Plant a tree Take part in a litter pick Sow some seeds Eat something you have grown Water some plants Go on a walk with your family or as a class

  6. Benefits and Outcomes: The eco-list encourages the participants to get outside, in the fresh air to complete the challenges. Any food that is grown in the school garden can be used in the school kitchens or given out to members of the wider community who have limited access to fresh produce. Every participant will realise that their small changes can make a difference.

  7. Breakdown of costs: Breakdown of costs: Building and maintenance of school allotment Prizes for participants Plants, seeds and necessary tools and equipment Publicity costs sharing information and details of the project

  8. Thank you. We will be happy to answer any questions.
