  2. Module 1 - Team Building 2 On a team it s not the strength of the individual players, but it is the strength of the unit and how they all function together. - Bill Belichick

  3. Module 1 - Team Building Objectives 3 Students will work together to build an environment of mutual respect, collaboration, cooperation, and creativity in which participants feel welcomed, nurtured, and encouraged to challenge themselves and others. Students will create a social contract to establish mutually agreed upon expectations for participation during the trainings. Students will debrief team-building activities and discuss the effectiveness of their strategies in dealing with obstacles encountered during the process.

  4. Team Building 4 Vocabulary - Do a quick write of what each of these words means to you and discuss with an elbow or virtual partner: Teamwork Collaboration Inclusive Cooperation Respect Empathy Effective Communication

  5. Team Building 5 Play Alphabet Game in Virtual Teams Consider the following questions: When do you collaborate with others in real life situations? When is teamwork most effective? What worked well? What could be improved?

  6. Team Building 6 Name and Adjective: Students will wait their turn in the virtual meeting. The facilitator/trainer states her/his name and a positive adjective that begins with the same letter that describes her/him; that is, Lovely Liz. The next student does the same and repeats the previous person s name and adjective. Intelligent Ian, Lovely Liz, and so on.

With your tables, discuss the rules we should follow here for our weekend trainings. Share with the group. Develop a Shared Social Contract we can all agree upon.
