  2. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether (1 Corinthians 13:8 12 KJV)

  3. Jesus And Me

  4. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Willingness Zacchaeus (Lk 19:1-10) Jesus invited Himself to the house of Zacchaeus Zacchaeus was a publican. He was hated and despised by the Jews (vs. 7; Matt 18:17) Zacchaeus made haste and received Jesus joyfully (vs.6) We are not told the specifics of what Jesus said to Zacchaeus but we are shown Zacchaeus response Zacchaeus showed a willing heart to do whatever was necessary to obey Christ (vs. 8) Remember what John preached (Lk 3:3-10 or verse 14). Fourfold Ex 22:1)

  5. Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?And he said unto them, Exact no more th If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a

  6. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Willingness Zacchaeus (Lk 19:1-10) Zacchaeus received salvation as a result of this encounter with the Christ Not because he was a descendant of Abraham because of his acceptance of truth Cf (Lk 3:8)

  7. Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: fo

  8. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Willingness Zacchaeus (Lk 19:1-10) Zacchaeus received salvation as a result of this encounter with the Christ But because of his acceptance of truth Cf Gal 3:25-29) But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ s, then are ye Abraham s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:25 29 KJV) This was the purpose of the encounter (vs 10)

  9. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of m

  10. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Righteousness Simon (Lk 7:36-50) * Remember what lead to this invitation (Lk 7:18-35) Simon was a pharisee who invited Jesus to his house (vs. 36)... A woman who was a sinner came in unto the house (vs. 37-38) Simon s response (vs. 39) Jesus response (vs. 40-48) To Simon (vs. 40-47) Questioned the motive behind his thoughts by asking him a question (vs. 40-43) Challenges his self- righteousness and rebukes his actions or non- action (vs. 44-47)

  11. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Righteousness Simon (Lk 7:36-50) Jesus response to the woman (vs. 48,50) The response of those present (vs. 49) One wonders if Simon invited Jesus to His house because of who He was Jesus was just a prophet in the mind of Simon Simon a pharisee, was worthy of Jesus coming to his home and of his company

  12. Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?The officers

  13. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. (John 9:38 41 KJV)

  14. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Righteousness Simon (Lk 7:36-50) The woman knew who Jesus was Cf (Mk 7:24-30) What level or degree of righteousness do we possess? (Matt 18:21-22) (Lk 17:1-10) (Lk 18:9-14)

  15. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Priority Mary & Martha (Lk 10:38-42) Jesus comes to the house of Mary and Martha in Bethany who are also the sisters of Lazarus Cf ( Lk 10:38 Cf John 11:1) Both sisters were busy attending the visit by Jesus Mary was at the feet of Jesus hearing His words (vs. 39) Martha was tending to the things of being a good host (vs. 40) Martha was cumbered {perispao- to be distracted or busied} with serving She complains to Jesus about Mary not helping her as if blaming Him Jesus responds to her complaint (vs. 41)

  16. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Priority Mary & Martha (Lk 10:38-42) Jesus responds to her complaint (vs. 41) Martha, Martha Cf (Lk 22:31_Simon, Simon Cf Acts 9:4_Saul, Saul) He does not tell her her work is not important but does tell her it is not of the importance He tells her that Mary has chosen that which is needful (also translated necessary or needed) and cannot be taken from her (vs. 42) Martha honored Jesus as a guest showing hospitality Mary honored Jesus as teacher and Lord!

  17. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Priority Mary & Martha (Lk 10:38-42) We must prioritize and not be distracted from that which is needful (Matt 6:25-33) (Col 3:1-4) (Eccl 12:13) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV)

  18. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Commitment The Rich Young Ruler Lk 18:18-27 The ruler came with praise and was immediately challenged as to his motives Marks account helps us to see his sense of urgency (Mk 10:17) came running and kneeled to Him He called Jesus Good Master {didaskalos- (teacher- Jn 3:2; Rom 2:20; doctors- Lk 2:46; 5:17NASB) Jesus was not denying virtuousness or Deity But was simply testing the rulers attitude about Him Knowing this was key to the ruler s acceptance of His answer to him

  19. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Commitment The Rich Young Ruler Lk 18:18-27 Jesus tells him you know the commandments (the Law). Jesus refers to the commandments pertaining to our relationship to others (Ex 20:12- 18; Deut 5:16-21) Marks account tells us that Jesus loved him showing his sincerity and integrity in keeping those commandments (Mk 10:21) Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. (Mark 10:21 KJV) However his faith and commitment had not been ultimately tested

  20. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Commitment The Rich Young Ruler Lk 18:18-27 Jesus tells him that he lacked one thing. That one thing will prevent him from having eternal life (vs. 22) Many people would not have taken that well Some would say that Jesus was being too strict and legalistic not realizing or accepting who He truly is Cf (Mk 1:1-2) They might think He was speaking as a scribe (Mk 1:22) This is why Jesus asked him why do you call me good He rejected eternal life (Lk 18:23 very rich Mk 10:22; Matt 19:22 had great possessions )...

  21. Jesus And Me Jesus, Me And Commitment The Rich Young Ruler Lk 18:18-27 He was honest in his rejection His rejection was not of a Christ or that Jesus was the Christ His rejected the eternal lifethat the Christ offers He rejected the commitment to Christ required for eternal life

  22. Jesus And Me Lk 12:1-21
