Energy Innovation Grant Program-Program Update Future Round? Program funds from 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and last year a one-time IIJA infusion Over 100 total projects funded over 5 rounds OEI Staff are closing out projects and gathering all data to create largest possible offering There will be another round Date TBD
IRA Contractor Training Grants (TREC) State-Based Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grants WI Allocation $2.8M The State-Based Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grants (Contractor Training Program) makes funding available to state energy offices so they can train, test, and certify workers to deliver energy efficiency, electrification, and home energy improvements, including those improvements covered under the HOMES and High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program. Docket: 9718-FG-2023 Program Status: Application submitted to U.S. DOE on 1/31/24 ($2.8 million) Contingent Award in January 2025, waiting further information from DOE

Funding Opportunity DE-FOA-0003547: ENERGY TECHNOLOGY DEPLOYMENT ON TRIBAL LANDS TO OPEN SPRING OF 2025 U.S. DOE: CURRENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES | DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY IE-EXCHANGE: IE-EXCHANGE: FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES Awards from this planned NOFO are anticipated to range from $100,000 to $2.5 million or from $250,000 to $5 million, depending on the area of interest. Applications will be due about 90 days after the NOFO is issued. 1. Install energy generating system(s) and/or energy efficiency measure(s) for Tribal Building(s) (Area of Interest 1); or, 2. Deploy community-scale energy generating system(s) or energy storage on Tribal Lands (Area of Interest 2); or, 3. Install integrated energy system(s) for autonomous operation (independent of the traditional centralized electric power grid) to power a single or multiple Essential Tribal Buildings during emergency situations or for tribal community resilience (Area of Interest 3); or, 4. Power unelectrified Tribal Buildings (Area of Interest Area 4).

Resources U.S. Department of Commerce, Commercial Law Development Program Technical Assistance Technical support focuses on these four areas of work: Legal technical assistance to advance high-value energy projects Legal technical assistance to support evaluating energy project proposals or deals Modernizing or developing Tribal energy legal, regulatory, and contractual frameworks to enable a sustainable competitive business environment and to align risks Capacity building to increase the ability of Tribal governments to conceptualize and implement complex energy projects and effectively participate in power markets. Additional technical assistance offered by the Office of Indian Energy includes: Energy Planning Energy Efficiency Assessments Resource Assessments Energy Project Planning Building Codes and Utility Formation.
