How Dugan Elementary Participates in the Title I Program: Our School Improvement Plan (TA goals) include the following: Our School Improvement Plan (TA goals) include the following: Dugan Elementary 2019 Dugan Elementary 2019- -2020 School Goals: #1- In 2019-2020, students in grades 3-5 will be at or above the district average ELA Georgia Milestones Assessment. All students at Dugan Elementary receiving a Lexile on the Fall Reading Inventory (RI) will grow at 125 Lexile pts or more by the spring Reading Inventory Assessment (RI). 2020 School Goals: #2- In 2019-2020, students in grades 3-5 will be at or above the district average on the Math Georgia Milestones Assessment. All students at Dugan Elementary will grow at 125 Quantile points from the fall 2019 Math Inventory (MI) to the spring 2020 MI administration. #3- In 2019-2020, the percentage of students scoring a level 3 or 4 on the Narrative Extended Writing task on the Georgia Milestones, will increase by 5%. 6

Curriculum Used at Dugan Elementary L4GA Grant recipient for literacy $4.5 million Research based technology support to fill literacy gaps iRead (2ndgrade), Read 180, System 44 Georgia Standards of excellence District Curriculum Maps Math Workshop- 3-part lessons: (opening, worktime and share what you have learned). Number Talks-short daily exercises aimed at building number sense (the ability to play with numbers meaning students can visualize problem solving, perform calculations quickly, and are flexible in their mathematical strategy.) Do the Math: . Students learn processes and build deep understanding of crucial arithmetic concepts. Students are assessed before, throughout and after each module/section. Bookworms: Interactive Reading (above grade level), Shared Reading(on grade level) and Differentiated Reading (individualized on student s needs) 8

Tests and Assessments for Students in Elementary Grades How do these assessments measure student progress? Georgia Milestones (Elementary) Designed to measure how well students have learned the skills and knowledge described in the curriculum in the areas of English Language Arts (reading and writing) and Mathematics in grades 3, 4, & 5 Science and Social Studies, grade 5 Taken at the end of the school year (April 2020) Provides information on academic achievement at student, class, school, system, and state levels Used to diagnose individual student strengths and weaknesses as related to the instruction of the state adopted curriculum, and to gauge the quality of education throughout Georgia. 11

Teacher Professional Qualifications Parent s Right-to-Know All parents have the right to request the following information about the professional qualifications of your student s teacher(s): Whether the teacher has met the Georgia Professional Standards Commission s requirements for certification for the grade level and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction; Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or other provisional status through which Georgia qualifications or certification criteria have been waived; Whether the student is provided services by paraprofessionals, and if so, their qualifications. 13
