  1. English WB: 27/04/20 Shine like the stars in the universe. Philipians 2: 14-113

  2. Reception: Hi everyone! I hope you got through as many activities as you could and did some amazing learning! This week we will be looking at the story Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson Watch it read here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_MyH_h4t1s Challenges: Create your own Paper Dolls! Draw pictures of each of your paper dolls (no more than 5). Label what each one is wearing including the colours. Write their names too! Write a short story letter from the boy to the girl, saying sorry for cutting her dolls up. Make your own Paper Dolls story, use paper to make pages and on each page draw a picture and write a short sentence using your phonics. Remember to use capital letters an full stops and phonics! ADULTS Feel free to send me pictures in the Dojo and I can make a collage of the amazing work everyone is doing!

Nursery: Paper Dolls This week we will be looking at the story Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_MyH_h4t1s Practice writing your name (full if you can) Show and watch the video with the children and have them tell you what happened (help them if they forget) Using paper and colours if you have them, help your child to make their own paper dolls. Write their name with help. Using their new paper dolls, have them recall the story with you, help them as necessary possibly perform the story for another family member Practice writing the names of people in your family. Pretend you are the girl (once the dolls have been cut) then the boy (after cutting them) talk about how each one would feel after it happening.

  5. Reception: Count your paper chain people, how many in each chain? Make a number paper chain put them in order (to 5/10/20 and beyond if able) Have a go counting in 2 s count the legs on the paper chain people (adults will need to model) but go no further than 10 or 20 depending on ability. Count your body parts e.g. how many noses how many eyes of all the paper dolls. Try measuring how long your paper chains are using different objects how many crayons long, how many forks long, how many pieces of pasta long or even lego bricks! You could even extend this by measuring how long you are or how long your shoes are! Measure your shoe then an adults shoe how many more is the adults than yours? (Make sure to challenge your child by asking them how they know or if they can prove it to you)

Nursery: Practice counting to 10 (with help) and backwards Eyes closed, count the claps/stomps/taps the adult makes (take turns) Sings some number songs with your child: 1/2/3/4/5 once I caught a fish alive 5 Little Monkies 5 Little Ducks went swimming one day Count the number of paper dolls you have made, Count their body parts how many eyes/noses? Write the numbers down with help (1-10 if possible) (Make sure to challenge your child by asking them how they know or if they can prove it to you)
