Engaging APEC Economies in Smart Appliance Standards Development
This project led by Australia aimed to engage APEC economies in developing Smart Appliance Standards for air conditioners and other appliances. The project emphasized international standards processes and promoting harmonization of standards for smart appliances. A workshop was held in Seoul with over 40 delegates from 9 economies, including presentations from manufacturers like Electrolux, Daikin, and Panasonic. Outputs included an agenda, attendees list, and presentations. Participants called for various actions to facilitate information exchange, international standardization efforts, and harmonization of standards. The outcomes of the workshop are to be reported to the Energy Working Group.
