How can Municipalities re-engage their communities in a post-pandemic environment? . Digital Billboards . Citizens portal on web based software . Social Media . Investing in connectivity infrastructure / broadband access projects in vulnerable communities. (review wayleave policies).
How can we use BR&E to foster collaboration with neighbouring communities? In light of the BR&E s background, which is to: Provide baseline information, future plans & challenges with doing business in the community, Serve as important resource for informing Economic Development priorities and work plans, Provide an opportunity to outreach to the business community and identify any immediate needs that may be impeding business growth. Kouga Municipality will use the BR&E model to foster collaboration by: Facilitating partnership approach(Local Business Support Partnership Working Group) between local businesses inorder to ensure retention and survival of as many businesses as possible in the Municipal area during & post pandemic to avoid loss of jobs and revenue. The WG will : Discuss and propose interventions to sustain local businesses Identify distressed businesses and possible solutions Make recommendations on rescue strategy for distressed businesses Facilitate groundwork for partnership development Information sharing and collaboration on joint marketing drives.
