  4. Suffixes A suffix is a letter/group of letters that is added to the end of a word. light en suffix root word

  6. Suffixes Watch out: use spelling rules to make sure that you spell the new word correctly. For words ending in e , usually remove the e before adding a suffix beginning with a vowel. E.g. intense + ify E.g. pressure + ise = intensify = pressurise
