Enhancing ASEAN Military Intelligence Cooperation for ASEAN Community Building
Objective To inform the AMIIM members that Thailand has an intelligence implementation in order to support the missions under the ADMM Plus Framework as follows: Peacekeeping Operations HADR Maritime Security Counter Terrorism Military Medicine Humanitarian Mine Action
Support the Peacekeeping Operations The office of the Military Advisor to the Permanent Mission of the Thailand to the UN Encouraging AMIIM S Intelligence Agencies to Continuously conduct Intelligence Exchanges Important Intelligence Work in support of the Peacekeeping Operation
The office of the Military Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the UN Support Thailand s role in the UN s Peacekeeping Operation by : Coordinating and giving opinions on military undertaking concerning the Peacekeeping mission as well as supporting other military undertaking and conducting other assigned missions. Thailand has applied for Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council
Encouraging AMIIMs Intelligence Agencies to continuously conduct Intelligence Exchanges An open forum for Intelligence : An Information Exchanges in order to extend more cooperation among ASEAN countries Exchanging the multilateral information among ASEAN Intelligence Analyst meeting Outcomes shall be summarized for ASEAN Director of Intelligence afterward Promoting the acquaintance among the Intelligence Analysts as well as enhancing ASEAN s military intelligence cooperation
Example of an Intelligence work in Sudan The AU/UN Hybrid Operations in Darfur (UNAMID) was established following the UN Security council Resolution 1765 dated 31 July 2007 Thailand approved of the deployment of one combined Infantry Battalion (Thai Darfur Task Force 980) for the UNAMID mission
