Lecture Recordings & Panopto Canvas Monthly Meeting Gemma Sinclair Product Owner
Lecture Recordings Remote sections do not have automatic access to lecture theatre recordings. For Semester 2 we have shared all primary lecture streams (usually L01C) in all courses. The publishing delay for lecture theatre recordings has also been reduced from 72 hours to 24 hours. Semester 2 course example 2
Remote Students: Sections Remote/offshore sections in Canvas: Course > Settings > Sections Section prefix OO NO NZ Description International students overseas and enrolled online Domestic students overseas and enrolled online Domestic students with medical approval for remote learning Section prefix NF, SW, NJ, MI Description China Learning Centre International students Note: During Semester 2 students will stay in OO section Any changes to students location (e.g. moving from campus to overseas) should be communicated to Records & Enrolment & Fees team (REF) team. Staff can email recordsmaintenance@auckland.ac.nz; students notify Student Support. 3
LTR Improvements this year New Features: Add recording count to settings page Visual distinction between manually published and auto published recordings Removed default section from Recordings tab (default section not visible to students) Bug fixes: Resolve cross-listed course bug where students couldn t see recordings View count increases when preview clicked and download count increases too Inactive recordings don t appear in Recordings list (scheduled lectures inactive) Mediapublish URL error checking (e.g. mimecast email protection URL) 4

How well does automated transcription work for range of accents? Managing student expectations for automated transcripts and trialing different processes to review and update transcripts Note: Lecture recordings will not be automated in Panopto pilot 7
