Planning a SRC Orientation Let s learn from each other.
Why is this an issue? NCSRC receives requests from many states to do orientation because- Term limits create ongoing orientation need, AND Regional RSA training centers are no longer available to provide SRC training and TA. VR agency trainers usually are not SRC experts. SRC officers and members are often not experienced trainers.
Table Exercise 1 So where are you? How often does your SRC receive orientation & other training? Are only new members trained? Who conducts the training? How long is the training? One session? More? What is included? What resource materials are given to new members?
Table Exercise 2: Where do you want to be? If resources were unlimited, what would you see as ideal ongoing orientation & training programs for your SRC? Have you used the NCSRC Orientation Package? What can be done to improve its use? Do you have orientation or other training materials or resources that you would like to share with other SRCs? What orientation or other training materials would you like developed for your use?
