  5. Is my personal information safe? Employee and student information (name, ID# & email) has been loaded into iParq. Employees and students will use their SWC ID# and Single Sign On (SSO) to input their vehicle information & license plate #s. Access via your SSO with Southwestern keeps all your password and other personal information secure within our system. iParq will be used to process sales of permits, maintenance of parking permit information and citations. SWC information on the iParq system belongs to SWC. iParq will not share or sell our information. Agreement # 10201.21, sections 3.2 & 6.2, approved by Governing Board 9/14/21. iParq maintains required compliance for credit card payments and does not retain credit card information. This adds improved security to our current credit card processing.

  6. Parking Services Faculty, Staff and Students can register 2 vehicles. However, only 1 vehicle may be on-site at a time. Virtual permit verification will begin on February 14, 2022 (which is consistent with the regular semester 2-week grace period). Permit or parking citations will be processed on-line (no longer required to go to Cashiering). Citation appeals, currently route to College Police, will transition to an independent, student peer-based process (under development). As always, disabled or other restricted parking will be enforced.

  7. How are parking permits verified? Parking Services staff will use a License Plate Reader (LPR) to scan vehicle license plates. The LPR is a hand-held device (cell phone sized) or scanner mounted on a cart or vehicle. The reader will scan the vehicle license plate to reference against a secure SWC parking database. This is only to verify there is a proper permit for that parking space. Parking Service These LPRs will not be used for any other purpose or gather any other information than the vehicle license plate #.
