AFTER CAREFUL CONSIDERATION OF THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS, FAMILIES, TEACHERS, AND SCHOOL STAFF MEMBERS, ALL 24 SUMMIT ACADEMY SCHOOLS WILL PROVIDE REMOTE LEARNING ONLY REMOTE LEARNING ONLY DURING FOR THE FIRST NINE WEEKS OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. CLASSES FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BEGIN ON AUGUST 24. AS OF AUGUST 3RD ALL SUMMIT ACADEMY STUDENTS WILL BE ON REMOTE LEARNING AS WE LEARN MORE ABOUT THE STATUS OF COVID-19 IN THE WEEKS AHEAD, WE EXPECT TO HAVE AN UPDATE BY SEPTEMBER 30 AS TO THE TEACHING FORMAT SUMMIT ACADEMY SCHOOLS MAY PROVIDE DURING THE SECOND QUARTER, WHICH BEGINS OCTOBER 19. IN THE MEANTIME, THANK YOU FOR YOUR FLEXIBILITY AND STEADFASTNESS AS WE CONTINUE TO NAVIGATE SAFELY THROUGH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE THEIR OWN CHROMEBOOK. A SMALL INSURANCE FEE ALONG WITH GOING THROUGH AN ORIENTATION WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE CHROMEBOOKS ARE ASSIGNED. ORIENTATION WILL TAKE PLACE DURING OPEN HOUSE. (THIS IS OUR GOAL) CHROMEBOOKS (THIS IS OUR GOAL)
ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN EACH DAY. Documentation of attendance will be based strictly on state guidance. There will be a check-in system to record online attendance when remote/virtual/online education is provided. Students will be provided a schedule of online classes for each day.
