ICC Review of the Property Maintenance ICC Review of the Property Maintenance Codes & Regulations in Florida Codes & Regulations in Florida Out of 381 jurisdictions we found the following: 76 jurisdictions (20%) have not adopted minimum building or property maintenance codes for existing buildings 83 jurisdictions (22%) reference model housing or building abatement codes/standards that were developed in the late 1970 s Standard Housing Code (SBCCI) Standard Unsafe Building Abatement Code (SBCCI)

Geographic location, local climate, risk of flooding, high wind areas, soil conditions, presence of salt air and other risk factors must be considered
