  1. Environmental impacts of events Liljana and Nicole

  2. Why to measure? Cost of the event for future generations Cost of the well-being of the locals Cost of the advantages for the enterprise and artists ISO 20121, the International Standard on Sustainable Event Management Key questions for the wellbeing of both guests and performers (Event Impacts, 2021)

  3. CO2 Emissions Typical conference attendees produce 400 pounds of CO2 emissions a day From air travel, there is a carbon footprint for every person being flied in Travelling accounts to 70% -90% of the carbon emissions worldwide There are also carbon emissions created from the waste, typically a minimum of 1.89 kg of waste per day Food production also has carbon emissions, from the greenhouse effect to the delivery of the product (agricultural practices also have a big impact) (Duplin, 2021)

  4. Waste production Events are responsible for a lot of the waste -and their proper recycling is not always taken into account -despite there being a lot of recycling bins, unless they are taken somewhere, there is no true recycling happening Laws nowadays are becoming more and more preoccupied with this matter, as well as trying to encourage the take what you bring motto (CVENT, 2021)

  5. Energy usage It is used all the times, from the construction of the site to the actual event, and afterwards their deconstruction Renewable energy is a trend happening nowadays, and it can even become an interesting part of the event (IAOEH, 2020)

  6. Natural Capital Erosion of the site, destruction or replacement of endemic animals and vegetation Impact on healthy ecosystems and destruction of the local environment Environmental cost -environmental economy (Raj and Moongrave, 2022)
