EOUs planning process: 2011 present 2011 2012-14 actions based on plan sustainability plan 2014 2015-16 actions based on plan sustainability plan 2016/17 Long Term Strategic Plan By necessity, our recent planning has been short term and often reactive. At this point, we have the luxury of embarking on a longer term, thoughtful plan.

  2. 2011 Sustainability Plan: Positioning EOU for Mission Fulfillment and Financial Sustainability Actions taken: 2012-2014 - Start an Outdoor program Gnashing of teeth - Develop UNI (an FYE program) - Furloughs, salary freezes & winter closure - Reduce our dependency on State funding - Out-of-state tuition differential - Plan for sustainable growth in accordance with our mission and core values - Streamlining of Programs

  3. 2014 Sustainability Documents: From Retrenchment to Reinvestment & A Plan for Repositioning Actions taken: 2014-2016 - Spanish speaking admissions officers hired Retrenchment . - Men s soccer established - More FTE cuts - Advising reorganized - Reach out to the local Latino population - Trio grant obtained - Create financial incentives for low income students - Eastern Promise program established - Provide support for retention efforts

  4. 2016: Long Term Planning University Council values statements SPOC committee support & facilitation Planning process SWOT analysis based on Board, Cabinet and Campus feedback What is different about this time? - We have ongoing (not interim) president and provost positions. - We have a fund balance. - We have the breathing room to plan without the looming imposition of fiscal retrenchment. - We have the scope to be proactive, not reactive. - We can strategically plan now for what we want EOU to look like in the future our future. - We have an opportunity for thoughtful and effective re-investment, let s take it!
