  1. DWG Report to ROS Paul Koberlein DWG Chair November 7th, 2024

  2. DWG Update DWG WebEx meeting held on 10/22/2024 Large Load Ride Through Events ERCOT Presented on Large Load reduction and loss events from 2020-present Events have happened in multiple areas in the ERCOT footprint There is a potential risk in the Far West Weather Zone in the event of 345kV faults IBR Fast Frequency Response (FFR) AEP Presented on a NERC white paper regarding IBR FFR This paper was discussed in the NERC Large Load Task Force AEP echoed that NERC is seeing large load ride through issues across regions

  3. DWG Update, continued GO Projects in DWG Flat Start Case Build Currently there is no cutoff date for adding generation into the Flat Start cases DWG discussed this and agreed a cutoff Pass (like SSWG) is the best path ERCOT and DWG will take this back and provide a recommendation next DWG meeting Flat Start Case Development Update Pass 2 Posted 11/1/2024 Recommend updating to PSSE 35.6.3 to avoid a bug Significant increase of Extraordinary Dispatch (EXDS) units to meet load demand DWG prefers to add EXDS units with dynamic models where available If more generation is needed, create a plan to scale down large loads

  4. DWG Update, continued Advanced Grid Support (AGS) for Energy Storage Resources (ESR) ERCOT presented on Advanced Grid Support for Energy Storage Resources With minimum hardware impact, AGS-ESR can enhance grid stability, among other benefits ERCOT plans to submit a PGRR and NOGRR in 2024 Large Load Stability Assessment Topic was previously tabled at DWG due to lack of consensus ERCOT presented some suggestions to survey loads and gather additional information Oncor and Center Point opposed this with concerns of increased TSP burden ERCOT also presented a screening methodology DWG tabled the discussion and will reopen during December DWG meeting

  5. DWG Update, continued Miscellaneous Updated DWG PM Posted Aditi Upadjyay (Lone Star Transmission) volunteered for DWG Vice chair in 2025
