Load Resource Update ERCOT Staff January 21, 2022 DSWG Meeting
NPRR 939 1. Change Group Assignments for NCLRs providing RRS 2. Initial Requirements for the Changes Currently being reviewed and approved internally 3. Basic timing for the process remains as it is done currently 4. Going from 2 Groups to 4 Groups upon Implementation 5. Group Size can vary depending on RRS Capacity allowed for NCLRs 6. ERCOT Operators can deploy more than one group at a time 7. Group 1 will continue to also include any LRs not assigned to a group in the day-ahead process 8. Currently expected to be part of Release 3 - 5/24/2022-5/26/2022 2 PUBLIC
FFR System Changes and Schedule 1. Workshops Conducted on 10/27/21 and 12/7/21 2. Changes for FFR also affect submission of offers for RRS from GR, CLR, and UFR Load Resources 3. Changes also affect submission of trades for RRS from GR, CLR, and UFR Load Resources 4. Implementation is currently planned for Release R5 10/4/22 to 10/6/22 5. IT Working Group being established and will include participation from our system software vendors 3 PUBLIC
NPRR 1093 and 1101 1. Allow Interruptible Load Resources to provide Non-Spin 2. Dispatched with the Off-line GRs (mixed groups of GRs and NCLRs of about 500 MW) 3. UFR LRs must disarm their relays 4. Initial Requirements for the changes currently being finalized and subject to internal review 5. Workshop planned for February 6. Currently expected to be part of Release 3 - 5/24/22-5/26/22 4 PUBLIC
Implementation of RIOO for Load Resource Registration 1. On-Line Registration Tool that eliminates the RARF 2. Currently working on requirements for the system 3. Similar to process used for GRs and being implemented for DGRs 4. No details on release plans but have asked to have in place for NPRR 1093 Implementation in late May 2022 5 PUBLIC
