  2. MOVIE : THE BIG SICK Synopsis of the movie : Kumail is a Pakistani comedian who meets an American graduate student named Emily at one of his stand-up shows. As their relationship blossoms, he soon becomes worried about what his traditional Muslim parents will think of her. When Emily suddenly comes down with an illness that leaves her in a coma, Kumail finds himself developing a bond with her deeply concerned mother and father. Synopsis of the video excerpt : Kumail learns that Emily has been taken to the hospital after having fainted, A doctor tells him that Emily has a serious lung infection and must be immediately placed in an induced coma with tracheal intubation. He signs the permission form and call her parents, Beth and Terry.

Critical Incident 1 : Negative body language - This scene shows that Emily avoided to make eye contact with Kumail when Kumail asked about her condition. - This shows that Emily is dishonesty towards Kumail about her current condition. - Based on communication theories, it is important to make eye contact while having conversation with other person. - Effect : Emily s replied will cause Kumail feel guilty to ask more question to her. Critical Incident 2 : Politeness - This scene shows that the nurse politely told Kumail to get the pass at the security desk if he want to stay at the ward. She also give further clarification to Kumail where exactly the security desk is located. - This shows that she is applying ethical behavior at workplace as a nurse. - This good manner should be exercised by all individuals at their workplace.

  4. Critical Incident 3 : Using others thing without permission - This scene shows that Kumail used Emily s handphone while she is in coma. Kumail used her fingerprint to open the handphone. - This shows that Kumail exercised bad manner because he used Emily s handphone without her knowledge. - Effect : People may lost trust towards a person who using other s thing without permission. - Recommendation : Kumail should go and meet Emily s parents instead of using her handphone to call them.

  5. Conclusion There is much we can learn from this video excerpt in term of ethical and unethical behavior in the workplace. The video excerpt highlight the importance of body language, good manners and honesty in the workplace. We can conclude that all these aspects of communication teach us to communicate effectively.

  6. With Dom and Letty on their honeymoon in Cuba, a mysterious woman somehow manages to make Dom betray the team that he called family and he has fought hard to protect. Now forcing to team up with Mr. nobody and Deckard Shaw, the team must travel from New York City to the icy plains of the Barents Sea to bring home the man who made them a family.

  7. Excerpt 1 : Discipline Scene : When they are having a serious discussion about the Chiper , Roman makes a unacceptable jokes. Analysis of the accident : He interrupting the discussion and do not know what the suitable time to makes a jokes. Effect : Little Nobody quite angry with Roman and the team annoying with his jokes Recommendation : He should learn to discipline his attitude and behave appropriately. Excerpt 2 : Uncontrollable emotion Scene : Everyone being emotional especially Luke when Mr. Nobody introduced Shaw as a new team to help them in the mission. Analysis of the accident: Luke cannot control his emotion and using offensive language towards Shaw. Effect : Its lead to destructive behaviors and loss respect towards others. Recommendation : The team should know how to handle their emotion and try to discuss with Mr. Nobody.

  8. Excerpt 3 : Not listening to others opinion. Scene : Little Nobody try to stop Roman from giving opinion in how to find Dom. Analysis of the accident : Little Nobody interrupting Roman when he talks. Effect : Roman will feel uncomfortable with Little Nobody. Recommendation : He should give Roman a chance in giving opinion and taking opinion and perspectives of others into account. There is much we can learn from this video expert in term of professional and unprofessional behavior in the workplace. This video expert highlight discipline, uncontrollable emotion and not listening to others opinion. We can conclude that all these aspects of communication do not only impact our relationship with others but also its will not help in solving the problems. We must remember that we have to show respect by listening attentively and observing politeness in every aspect of our communication.
