Ethics The study of what is right and wrong in human behaviour, the beliefs about what is correct and acceptable morally in the society . It can also be defined as a problem or a situation that is required to be evaluated as right or wrong by respective organisation or the society with certain parameters that are followed in and around us.
Code of Ethics In Forensic Science, there are certain parameters need to be followed which can be referred as Code of ethics. Every Forensic professionals need to maintain these code while working in forensic field, Such as: Working within professional competence. Providing clear and objective testimony. Avoiding conflicts of interest.
Ethical issues in Forensic Science There should be impartiality, transparency and integrity of professional behaviour which is required by a forensic personnel to maintain in forensic science. There should be no emotional influence, no professional influence and no financial stage that can dispersed or alter the report or any analysis. No biased opinion should be given while during the presentation of report or while registering statement in the court of law. One must be familiar with the law and at the same appreciate the rules of evidence. Forensic scientists should be technically competent and employ reliable methods of analysis. Forensic scientist is to be honest with respect to his qualification or experience and confine his report to area of his expertise.
Ethical Problems The two main reasons for ethical issues in forensic science are :- 1. Own personal agenda promotion and monetary benefit. 2. Pressure from agencies in control of crime lab most crime labs controlled by government agency so would be on prosecutors side. i.e. basically for
Resolution of Ethical issues The ethical issues can be resolved by the following ways :- 1. Establish the fact surrounding the ethical dilemma i.e. to know the facts surrounding the ethical issue. 2. Determining the obligations and duties. 3. Establishing the connection between the participants involved and trying to resolve the differences.
