The Double Effect This is a great catch all idea to use in an essay on natural law and issues of human life. It is also important to make the link between Natural Law and the Roman Catholic Church, as many of its positions on applied ethics are based on the principle of double effect . Task1 Read the paragraph explaining double effect. Highlight the key points and summarise it in TWO sentences based on this EXT How might this apply to these issues?
Issues of Human Life On your sheet you have some sections to discuss in order. 1 Add any key teachings you can think of relating to NML 2 Read and understand the definition given. 3 Use your brains and your handouts to decide how it might apply and using what key teachings. (10 mins on each one)
How might NML respond to these? Is abortion ever right? Should we have capital punishment? Is voluntary euthanasia ethical? Should we be able to research on embryos, create human clones, or make designer babies ?
