  10. INTRODUCTION The atomic model is a dynamic model that had evolved over hundreds of years. Many great scientists have indirectly contributed to the current version of the atomic model. Of these scientists, the greatest of them all is Democritus.

  11. CHOOSE SCIENTIST Democritus lived during the 5thcentury B.C. Even though he had no tools by which he could test his theory, he ingeniously coined the term atomos to described the little bits of matter that made up everything. He further stated that matters can not be destroyed. In addition, he stated that due to the arrangement of these atomos, matter can have different properties.

  12. ATOMIC MODEL CONTRIBUTION Democritus s brilliant idea give the modern atomic model it s humble beginning. Without his amazing insights, our understanding of the atomic model may not have progressed as quickly. In other words, Democritus laid the foundation to today atomic model.
