  3. How OMMC Department of Surgery has evolved through the years 1969 - Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center - Department of Surgery 1973 - first graduates General Surgery Residency Program in existence for 45 years now. Accredited initially by the Philippine College of Surgeons and later by the Philippine Society of General Surgeons in 2003. Program lost its accreditation in June 2001 and regained it in November 2001 with conditional accreditation. In 2003, Program was granted full accreditation and this has been maintained since then up to the present, 2018.

  4. How OMMC Department of Surgery has evolved through the years If I were to sum up the evolution of the OMMC Department of Surgery in two words or phrases, these would be: MORE STRUCTURED AND WITH INNOVATIONS, more structured and with innovations in governance, training, service and research. These milestones occurred in 2001 when I took over the helms and these were maintained and continually improved by Dr. Adrian Yu, Dr. Harry Go, Dr. Hazel Turingan, and lately, Dr. Penserga.

  5. The directions that I as a former chairman of the Department has laid for the Department I was appointed Chairman of the Department of Surgery in February of 2001 by Dr. Christia Padolina. I held the chairmanship up to July of 2009, thereafter, I passed the baton to Dr. Adrian Yu, then to Dr. Harry Go, then to Dr. Hazel Turingan and then to Dr. Edgardo Penserga.
