Highlights the often overlooked aspect of exploitation of the weak and downtrodden. Provides insight into the moral ramifications of financial activities. CONCLUSION 1. What can you conclude from the results? The paper examines not only the formal ways sports federations make profits, but also the complacency in exploitation through human and labor rights abuses. The paper focuses on the behaviour of major sports federations, such as FIFA, which often host events in environments that lead to exploitation of labour forces and local populations. These federations use their global hegemony to maximise profits, despite being non-profit organisations. The lack of interest in human and labour rights leads to the exploitation and displacement of local inhabitants and workers, particularly migrant workers from peripheral states. The paper applies the International Relations Theory (IR) World-Systems Theory, which highlights the power dynamics, exploitation, globalised labour, and cultural imperialism in the core states. These federations' complacency and indifference ensure the continued exploitation of peripheral states, peoples, and workers. The federations' pursuit of financial growth and new markets incentivizes them to maintain the status quo.
