  5. CLEAR AND APPROPRIATE TARGETS: They underpin all assessment exercises and scoring schemes. They must be clear to us and to our students from the beginning of the learning.   8. ASSESSMENT LINKED TO MOTIVATION: Students are entitled to equity of motivation. Classroom assessment has greatest potential to motivate and promote learning.
