Half of the Bloom term is here and we are very grateful to God for great accomplishments we have been able to record as a school. The school is growing in leaps and bounds. We thank you as one of the stakeholders and a valid contributor to our successes. Mr Fadare Adegboyega Deputy Head Teacher FACILITIES Our passion for high level of literacy among our pupils is not lip service. We have recently stocked our library with more age- appropriate graded readers. Reading culture at Blooming Greens School is second to none. Similarly, our Science laboratory has been given a face-lift and more equipment added. We cannot afford to be stagnant in the face of the ever-changing world. Word of the Week TOLERANCE Colour of the week PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT If you don t train them, don t blame them! Our staff now engage in series of professional development every week in order to keep us abreast with global practices in the field. In the coming week, the Deputy Headteacher will join other school heads in Nigeria at the Heads of School Summit at Olasore International School in Osun State. Red COFFEE MORNINGS The two Coffee Mornings this term recorded huge success and a large turn-out. One fall out of the meeting is the request by parent for the school to organise Parents Seminar. This has been fixed for March 7th 2020 at 10:00am. More details will be communicated in due time. PARENT S CONFERENCE Friday 28th February, 2020. SCHOOL BUS We want to appeal to parents whose children are on the school bus to ensure that children are ready at the time the buses arrive to pick them in the morning. We are all aware of the ripple effect of just a minute delay on Lagos roads. We oblige families involved 4 minutes window after which the bus moves. WORLD BOOK DAY Friday 6th March , 2020.

MUSON ANNUAL CHORAL COMPETITION & UCMAS TV SHOW Some children will be registered for this year s Muson Choral Competition. Similarly, our school has been selected to participate in a UCMAS TV show auditioning. This will come up on Saturday 15th February 2020. We believe that our children will be selected. We will use any available avenue to expose our children to external competitions in order to boost their confidence and also to juxtapose our performance with that of other reputable international schools. Let me also say here that each of the Key Stage classes now learns a musical instrument. Having a personal instrument will enhance children s proficiency in the playing of the instrument. Please get one for your child. NATIONAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION Our school has always been known for quality. Two of our children who participated in this year s National Mathematics Competition that was organised by the Nigerian Tulip International College in conjunction with the National Mathematical Centre Abuja are qualified for the second round. We have many of the children who scored over 70% while others scored between 60% and 70%. The second round of the competition will take place on the 22nd on February 2020. Similarly, four of our children in Year 6 have won themselves N300,000 scholarship per term for 3 years as a result of their outstanding performance in a scholarship examination in which they participated. INTERCONTINENTAL DAY This term will be rounded off with Intercontinental Day celebration. This will require that children dress in the traditional attire of the country of their class. Parents will also provide the local delicacies of the country on the day of celebration. Teachers are working tirelessly to educate the children about the tradition, language and culture of the countries. The celebration will take place on Saturday 4th April at the open field in the barracks adjacent to the school.

She loved Valentine s Day so she asked her parents to take her on a vacation to a small Island in London but her parents said no, they can only afford to take her to the beach. Christabelle was sad for some days then she remembered she had friends and neighbours who were lonely and had no one to share the day with. She decided to throw a Valentine s party to make everyone happy at the beach. On Valentine s Day, she invited her friends and neighbours to her beach party to celebrate Valentine and they had lots of fun. Tiara Ajibola Year 2 Emerald The Monster Family Once upon a time, there lived a family of monsters. Father was a werewolf, mother was a beautiful witch and their daughter, Zombie. They lived in a cave on the mountain side. It was Zombie s 10th birthday, she wanted a layer cake, a party with her friends and family in attendance but she couldn t tell anyone because she was scared of her werewolf father and her mom. The witch knew what Zombie wanted so she planned a monstrous surprise birthday party with the other members of the family the troll aunt, vampire uncle and ghost cousin. They decided to buy Zombie a monstrous dress and shoes for the party. On her birthday, Zombie was sad because she wouldn t have a party. She went to the coffee shop and saw her aunt standing angrily at the door of the shop. She was scared when her aunt ordered her to put on the monstrous dress and shoes. Zombie did as she was told fearfully; her aunt told her to enter the shop through the back door so she could get the cleaning materials. Zombie sobbed as she walked to the back door, she opened the back door, entered and was shocked to see every member of her family at her birthday party. It was her surprise birthday party. Everyone hugged and sang for her, it was a day she would never forget. Tobi Olabanji Year 2 Emerald
