  4. HOMEWORK Each week your child will be set homework, please can you ensure that this is completed and handed in on time. They will also need to spend time learning their 10 spellings ready for their test on a Monday. The children should be reading their books throughout the week, please sign their books if they have read at home. Bring reading records to school every day. The children should be aiming to read age related books with fluency and understanding, being able to discuss in depth what they have read and form opinions about it. This will help them immensely in their end of year tests.

  7. END OF YEAR TRIPS In July we hope to visit The Anderton Centre to take part in outdoor adventurous activities. As we have done for the past 10 years all pupils will come for one day and they will have the option of staying for an overnight. More details will be sent out in the new year. The Y6 pupils will also decide amongst themselves where they would like to go on a fun day out to celebrate the end of their primary education, we will keep you posted.

  8. BEHAVIOUR As you can gather Year 6 is a busy year and we have a lot of work to get through, we do though ensure that the pupils get a balanced curriculum. We expect the pupils to follow the values of our school, respect, friendship, love and creativity. Anyone who cannot will have consequences and miss out on some of our planned activities. If your child is not following our values then we shall be contacting you.

  9. ATTENDANCE The minimum national attendance expectation is 96%. Please ensure that your child attends school everyday to keep their attendance good. If they are not in school then they are not learning and are missing out on learning valuable new skills.

  10. TO END This is an important year for your child. We will do our very best to make sure that this year is a success for them. Please work with us to make this a successful year.
