  2. WHY DO WE NEED MORE PLACEMENTS? Increase in number of students - needed to fill vacancies across all sectors More routes into nursing and AHPs NA and apprenticeships Increase in nursing applicants Need for more diverse placements to mirror workforce and provide breadth of experience needed to meet professional standards PVI providing increasingly higher levels of care often untapped resource for learning opportunities

MY ROLE Mainly looking for nursing placements BSc and NA all fields Find anywhere that qualified nurses are working and arrange meeting to discuss the support our students need, and what we can offer them What learning opportunities do they have Capacity to support our students Work with Theresa Corkill and Donna Smith

  4. REQUIREMENTS Develop Profile Education Audit Provide SLiP update/transition session for mentors Ensure other staff can access SLiP courses to prepare for PS/PA roles Education Contract/Partnership Agreement

  5. ISSUES Most Independent schools only have 1 nurse so we will need to provide PA support Need for exposure to clinical proficencies and for PS/PA support Staffing issues as with NHS Some areas have no staff with previous mentorship or experience in supporting learners , so starting from scratch Refusal

  6. SUCCESSES SO FAR Several nursing homes across Sussex 4 nurseries 4 Independent schools Private MH Hospital Hospice in Kent Wound + Lymphodaema Care company Currently in negotiations with 2 prisons, 4 nursing homes, 3 Independent companies providing specialist care in the community, 2 independent schools, Sussex NHS Commissioners, and Surrey Hospital and Community leads. 2 x OT placements
