  2. Main Purpose Council 4, agreed to experiment on the application of the ISO 9001 principles on a couple of Strategic Plan targets (one per Committee to be proposed). HSSC ISO 9001 Cell/S-101 PT are tasked to design and maintain a Gantt diagram for experimentation and risk management purposes. HSSC 13 meeting agreed that the ISO 9001 principles will be experimented on the development of the Product Specification for ENCs S-101 ed. 2.0.0. An HSSC ISO 9001 Cell has been established with development, monitoring and risk management objectives. The HSSC ISO 9001 cell is composed of the DQWG chair, 1-2 experts of ISO 9001, S-101 Project Control Officer (PCO S101PT Vice Chair) and HSSC vice chair.

  3. Progress on HSSC Action Items Four meetings have been held on: 12/08/2021, 16/11/2021, 3/03/2022 and 28/09/2022. Next meeting planned for February 2023 A GANTT diagram and Risks and Opportunities Management Purposes document are maintained by the S-101 PCO. Meetings enable discussions and agreement on planning, risk assessment and mitigation.

Recommendations to HSSC14 Address the risk of not having the S-101 ed 2.0.0 in time : a) Consider to organize quickly a dedicated workshop on Portrayal Catalog b) Explore as a priority how special projects fund could assist with resources the development of the Portrayal Catalogue Increase resilience of the IHO GI Registry : a) Carry out an audit on the implementation and maintenance of the IHO GI Registry, considering the different aspects: technical, organizational, human resources, b) Propose relevant actions to improve the management of this tool (first step of PDCA method) c) It may be beneficial for an external party to conduct the audit to identify opportunities for improvement

  9. Actions decided (HSSC14) Action HSSC 14/18 HSSC noted the concerns raised by the HSSC ISO 9001 Cell on the resilience of the IHO GI Registry and invited the IHO Secretariat in liaison with KHOA and the HSSC ISO 9001 Cell, to consider the recommendations provided in Appendix 2 of Doc. HSSC14-05.5B for a reliable and more robust situation in the long term. Target date/event HSSC-15 Status: Done. Meeting between HSSC Vice chair and KHOA/IHO Secretariat representatives occurred in September 2022. Focused on S-99 and KHOA/IHO MOU from 2018. The Audit was conducted in order to get a better understanding of the shortfalls and difficulties in the operation of the GI Registry and come up with recommendations.

Action HSSC 14/63 HSSC noted the outcome of the objective analysis made by the HSSC ISO 9001 Cell on the development of Ed. 2.0.0 of S-101 and agreed on the recommendations to monitor the progress on the Portrayal Catalogue. Target date/event HSSC-15 Action HSSC 14/64 HSSC Chair to report to C-6 on the benefits of having this HSSC ISO 9001 Cell. Target date/event 18 July 2022 (for C-6) Status: Done
